Strawberry Fluff Salad Ingredients
This strawberry fluff requires just a few simple ingredients. You’ll need the following:
- strawberry JELLO gelatin
- sour cream or plain yogurt
- fresh strawberries
- mandarin oranges
- crushed pineapple
- mini marshmallows
- whipped topping
This is a strawberry fluff without cottage cheese. So if the slightly lumpy texture of a jello salad with cottage cheese is a turn off for you, then you’ll love this recipe! And while there are plenty of fluff salad recipes with pudding, I like using sour cream instead because it cuts down on some of that sweetness. You can also substitute different canned fruit. Don’t have mandarin oranges or crushed pineapple? No problem! Grapes, diced canned peaches or fruit cocktail would be a great substitute. Fluff salad is very flexible and different gelatin or fruit can be substituted.

How to Make Fluff Salad with Cool Whip
This fluff salad with cool whip and crushed pineapple is super simple to prepare. To start, you’ll want to add add sour cream and strawberry gelatin powder into a large bowl. (Trust me, you want plenty of room to stir your ingredients.)
Whisk until completely combined.
Gently fold in mini marshmallows, crushed pineapple, sliced strawberries, mandarin oranges and whipped topping. (Be sure to drain your fruit thoroughly.)
Transfer to a serving bowl if desired, and chill for at least one hour before serving. (I don’t recommend making this salad too far in advance as it will become watery over time. )
Garnish with more strawberries, shredded coconut, maraschino cherries, mini marshmallows or chopped nuts.
How long does fluff salad last?
How long your fluff salad will last in the refrigerator really depends upon the ingredients used. Oreo Fluff, for example, lasts several days. Fresh fruits like the strawberries in this salad do break down pretty easily over time and the bottom of your fluff salad will start to get watery. I recommend serving this within a few hours of making it and ideally within 24 hours.
This strawberry fluff jello salad is so light and fluffy. Jello salad is my favorite way to to enjoy what might actually be a dessert at dinner. Here in the Midwest it is still considered a socially acceptable side dish for dinner, and I am here for it. Give this recipe for strawberry fluff a try and let me know what you think!
